Misinformation
With all the information that is constantly thrown at us on a daily basis from a multitude of avenues, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. When it comes to science in particular, it can be hard to understand and know what is scientifically accurate and what is made up; especially given how many of us have not touched the subject since high school.

This learning module is the first step towards solving that problem. We will begin by learning exactly what the problem is, i.e., what is misinformation? Where did it even come from? Why are there so many different words?

There are 5 learning goals we have for you over the course of this module:
1
Impacts
What is misinformation, what are its impacts, and why do we care?
4
Mistrust in Science
Even when the science is clear as day, why is it hard for some to trust?
2
Misinformation
Intentions matter. How does false information spread unintentionally?
5
Combatting Misinformation
What can you do to combat misinformation and make sure you don't fall victim to it?
3
Disinformation
Intentions still matter. How and why does false information spread intentionally?
